ST. AUGUSTINE'S KYZER DUNBAR (7) COMPETES IN A 2023 INDOOR MEET!
Get your popcorn ready! We're talking about the big buckets you can find at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse. There will be drama in the boys 800m where five returners will battle to see who will be the first Louisiana high school half miler to break the 2:00 mark in the event.
Last year, all the five returners were less than one second from the accomplishment. St. Augustine junior Kyzer Dunbar missed by the narrowest of margins with his season best of 2:00.01.
Dunbar is joined by fellow junior Jackson Burney from Calvary and Leesville's Keeton Johnson.
There are two seniors in the group of five. Catholic's Matthew Maynard and Pineville's Justin Descant.
A quick review of how this group fared during the outdoor season. Burney ran sub 2:00 in all but one race, and in that race--the District 1-2A Meet--Burney was conserving energy for races to maximize the number of points for his team.
