Men's Distance Medley Places Third At Texas Tech Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas-- A third place finish by the men's distance medley relay highlighted day one for the McNeese State Cowboys and Cowgirls at the Texas Tech Invitational here Friday. The team comprised of Jordan Neil, Michael Washington, Michael Dyer and Jonathon Koenck posted a time of 10:17.69.

Other results for the Cowboys had Jared Crafton finishing in sixth place in the weight throw with a toss of 52' 8 3/4". Torian Lindsey placed 25th with a 22.49 clocking and Charles Jackson placed 26th with a time of 22.50 in the 200 meter dash.

Also placing in the 200 meter dash was Donovan Anderson (44th/22.96), Ronald Stine (45th/22.98) and Sam Bowers 953rd/23.46). Jarrett LeBlanc placed 8th in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 2:34.42.

On the women's side, the distance medley relay made up of Alvy Carragher, Rachael Easton, Tinette Burger and Amy Guinn placed fifth with a time of 12:44.75.

Other finishers for the Cowgirls had Paige Lynch placing 44th with a 26.87 and Ashleigh Wells placing 32nd with a time of 26.27 in the 200 meter dash. Aisling Casey placed 10th in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 3:10.75 while Candice McCormick placed 11th with a time of 3:23.20.

Kayla Fontenot placed 14th in the high jump with a leap of 5' 1/2''. Ashlee Smith aned La'Shantena Rounds both finished in the Top 10 in the weight throw. Smith placed sixth with a throw of 49' 7 1/4' and Rounds placed ninth with a throw of 47' 3 3/4". Amber Kelly finished in ninth place in the weight throw with a toss of 41' 2 1/4".
