This week's MileSplit LA Future Star is Chase Corbins. Chase will be a junior at Madison Prep Academy this year. He has been competing in track and field for seven years.
MileSplit LA: What is your favorite thing do when you are not practicing or competing in track and field?
Chase: My favorite thing to do outside of track is look into colleges and chill and also find ways to improve myself.
MileSplit LA: What do you love the most about track and field?
Chase: Competition and having fun while doing it
MileSplit LA: What track meet or race are you most proud of? Why? What place did you get? What was your time?
Chase: The meet I was proud was at the USATF Association Junior Olympic championship because it was the meet where i put all my training into a qualifying meet and when I qualified for my 400m with a time of 54.05 9th place and 800m with a time of 2:10 and came 5th place.
MileSplit LA: What is your favorite event and why? What is you PR?
Chase: 400 and my personal record is 53.40
MileSplit LA: What are your goals for this season?
Chase: To bring my 800m and 400m time down.
MileSplit LA: Who are some of the people who have helped you to this point in your track and field career and how have they helped you?
Chase: My mom and coaches from my summer team and high school team and the way that they help me is that they teach how to run a specific race and what times I need to hit at every meet.
