POLL: MileSplit LA Boys' Performer Of The Week!

WILLIAM DECUIR (4) HELPED  CATHOLIC WIN THE LHSAA D1 BOYS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Congratulations to the finalists for MileSplit LA Boys' Performer Of The Week. You will find them on the ballot below. The winner of this poll will move on to take part in next week's MileSplit LA Boys Indoor Athlete Of The Year. This poll will close on Saturday at 9pm. 

Miller Malley (Benton)-- The Benton high school record holder in the pole vault won his second consecutive state championship in the boys' D1 pole vault. Malley jumped a season best 14-5.25. That's just shy of a two and a half foot improvement from his best vault during the 2024 indoor season. 

Zion Smith (Airline)--Smith has earned All-American honors during summer age-group national championship action, but he won his first state championship on Saturday in the boys' D1 60m hurdles. Smith's time was 7.99. 

Jayden Hamilton (Mansfield)- The freshman won the D2 boys long jump with a mark of 22-2.25. That is the No. 1 all-time mark by a freshman long jumper in Louisiana history. 

Rafael Cuartas (Houma Christian)-- Cuartas was the state champion boys D2 high jump as he cleared 6-2.75

Damien Richard II (Destrehan)--Richard made the podium in the D1 boys' long jump with a mark of 23-0.75. It is No. 6 all-time for La. juniors indoors.

Cameron Brazzle (Lake Charles College Prep)--The state champion in D2 boys triple jump with a mark of 47-3.75, Brazzle helped LCCP win the LHSAA D2 team championship. 

Lamar Brown (University Lab)- Won the state championship in D2 boys' shot put with a throw of 54-4

Keidron Thomas (Delhi Charter)- Won the state championship in D2 boys' 60m with a time of 6.91.

Marquis Butler (Alexandria)--Won the state championship in D1 boys' triple jump with a mark of 47-8

Connor Fanberg (Jesuit)--Won the state championship in the D1 boys' 1600m with a time of 4:22.53. That is the  No.4 all-time indoor 1600m time for Louisiana juniors. 

Catron Hargrove (Glen Oaks)--He was runner-up in boys D2 400m with a time of 50.37. Also finished third in the high jump (5-10.75) and fourth in the long jump (21-9.75).Helped team the Panthers to runner-up finish. 

Antoine Taylor (Albany)--Taylor finished third in the D2 boys' 800m with a time of 1:58. 

William Decuir (Catholic High Baton Rouge)--Decuir was the runner-up in the boys 800m with a personal record time of 1:58.81. Also brought his Catholic 4x400m relay from behind to win the D1 boys 4x400m. His performance was one of the highlights for a Catholic team which won the D1 team state championship. 

Anderson Frank (Episcopal of Acadiana)--Frank finished third in the D2 boys 3200m with a personal record 9:45.
