MAKERIAH HARRIS (SCOTLANDVILLE) - Harris just keeps on keeping on! Harris begins her junior outdoor campaign with a time faster than any she ran as a sophomore. Her 13.81 at the Carver Classic on Saturday was something special. We cannot wait until she runs in some bigger meets against athletes who will help her run even faster.

EMMA BOURG (HOUMA CHRISTIAN) - Speaking of an athlete who keeps getting faster...Houma Christian's Emma Bourg had a solid opener at the E.D. White Relays. Bourg cruised to 5:09.51 in the 1600m and personal record 11:07. 47 in the 3200m.

SYA BOLDEN (COMEAUX) - Last, but not least, another freshman. This one is no stranger to MileSplit LA polls as she made the ballot in the fall during cross country. Bolden had a strong performance in her outdoor opener at the Charles Lancon Invite. Bolden won the 1600m with a 5:18.52. She also won the 800m with a 2:23.48. Both marks by Bolden are ranked No. 4 in the state after week No. 1.
