JACKSON JARRET (4) AND JESUS CORDOVA (11) ARE TWO OF THE MOST IMPROVED 1600m RUNNERS IN THE STATE!

David Thibodeaux's Jackson Jarrett has come on to the scene during the 2023 Louisiana high school indoor season. A big reason for that is the 45 second drop from his best time as a freshman. This year, Jarrett has a best of 4:36.27 in the 1600m, which he ran at last Saturday's LSU Last Chance Qualifier. In fact, Jarrett has improved his 1600m time each of the five times he has competed.
Of course, the success he has seen this winter did not happen overnight. Jarrett was a top ten finisher in the LHSAA Class Division 2 State Cross Country Championships with a time of 16:43.70. Jarrett's improvement is second only to University's Lab'sAnderson Krupula, who improved almost a minute from 2022 to 2023.
