LUCY CRAMER (RIGHT) COMPETES DURING THE INDOOR SEASON
The Louisiana high school track and field season rolls on and we had some outstanding performances from girls across the state. Congratulations to the finalists who made this week's MileSplit LA Girls Performer Of The Week poll. The winner will advance to make the ballot for MileSplit LA Girls Outdoor Athlete Of The Year at the end of the season. This poll will close on Saturday at 9pm.
Lucy Cramer (Parkview Baptist)--Had a PR of 10:46 at the FSU Relays. It's the fastest time in Louisiana this year, and ranks No. 3 all-time among Louisiana juniors. Only Gabrielle Jennings (10:43) and Katlin Flattman (10:44) have run faster.
Tay'lee Crump (Lafayette)--The leader of the pack in Lafayette's 400m group and the leader of Louisiana in the event after running 55.14 at the Beaver Club Relays.
Mackenzie Hayes (Mandeville)-- Won the 100 hurdles at the St. Paul's/STA Northshore meet with a time of 14.45. It's the fastest time in Louisiana this year. It also ranks No. 4 all-time for Louisiana high school sophomores.
Emma Smith (Delcambre)-- Smith keeps soaring to new heights. Her latest achievement is clearing 6-0 at the Panther Relays. She is tied for No. 2 in the nation. Smith, who is only a junior, is No. 1 all-time in Louisiana.
Kai Richard (Zachary)-- The MileSplit Indoor Athlete of the Year is doing big things again. Now, she leads the state in the discus with a throw of 143-6 at the Saints Relays during week one of the season.
Olivia Woods (St. Thomas More)--Talk about clearing new heights! Woods went over the pole vault bar at 13-2 this past weekend at the Beaver Club Relays. It's a personal record for Woods and the No. 2 mark in the nation. All-time in Louisiana the mark ranks No. 8. Only four pole vaulters in Louisiana history have jumped higher as juniors.
