Houma Christian's Emma Bourg had a statement win at the St. Joseph's Invitational on October 1. She seperated herself from the other elite runners in the state with a time of 17:21. That time would be 20 seconds faster than any other high school girl in the Louisiana.
She would go on to have another statement win last Monday at the LHSAA State Cross Country Championships. She was the only female runner in the state to break 18:00, winning with a 17:56.
Mt. Carmel sophomore Catalina Reichard posted the second fastest time in the state in 2022 with a 17:43 at the St. Joseph's Invitational.
At No. 3 and No 4 on the Top 10 list are the Cramer sisters from Episcopal. Both sisters had their fastest time of the year at the Catholic Invitational, where they finished first and second.
