1

Jesuit

District 9-5A1Jesuit had a historical weekend at its district championships. Not only did the team win with a perfect score, but it also shattered the previous Louisiana record for the 3-mile team average. On top of that, the district champion, Jack DesRoches, almost took down the state record for the 3-mile distance. The record still stands with St. Paul's Eric Coston in a time of 14:25. There is so much more to be explored about all of these individual performances, but there is simply not enough time to talk about them in this short of an article.
2

Brother Martin

District 9-5A2The Crusaders had the match-up of a lifetime, going to head-to-head against the Blue Jays. This team is extraordinarily good in terms of the history of Louisiana, but it was only good enough to nab them second-place this time. Brother Martin is still on a hot streak and is a clear favorite for the #2 position.
3

Ruston

North Louisiana Championship4The Bearcats make another appearance, this time by winning the meet with an incredible score of 28 points. The team was on devastating form, placing four within the top five, and having all of those runners break 16-minutes as well. We have not seen this team compete in a while, but it is certainly clear that this team is fit.
4

Catholic High

EBR Metro Championship3The Grizzlies easily won this meet, leaving second-place 70 points behind them. This wasn't the best that we have seen this team at, but it is still a performance to be revered. Catholic High placed four within the top ten with two additional runners just shy of it.
5

Parkway High School

District 1-5A5Parkway ran away with this meet, taking first place with just 28 points. Everyone on this team performed exactly how they were supposed to and it's clear that there was an effort made for pack-running. With a team like this, the Panthers deserve this victory.
6

Teurlings Catholic

District 4-4A6Teurlings Catholic took an easy win with a total of 19 points. The team placed the entirety of its top seven runners in the top nine and swept the podium positions. This was nothing short of what we have come to expect from this team by now.
7

Vandebilt Catholic

District 7-4A18This was a HUGE race for Vandebilt. The team won with an almost perfect score of 16 points and placed six of its runners within the top nine. This race was far better than what we have seen from this team from earlier in the season. Perhaps this team will continue down this path as we continue through the qualifying rounds for the state meet.
8

Holy Cross

District 9-5A7This wasn't the strongest showing by Holy Cross, but it was up there. Considering that the team had not been able to race a squad large enough to score as a team in the past, I consider this a win. The team, as a whole, is not far off from its top performance and looks to be in good shape for the post-season.
9

Episcopal

EBR Metro Championship11The Knights performed well at this meet, placing second in a very competitive field. We saw a few personal bests, indicating the that team is not done improving yet and could have more in store for later in the season. For now, the team leaps back into the top ten and remains one of the dominating forces in the state.
10

Zachary

EBR Metro Championship9The Broncos are still holding strong and holding a prominent spot in the top tier of these rankings. The team ran well, placing third behind Episcopal, but there may be some cause for concern with some of its runners. We have not seen consistent performances from Dillon Moree. His performance may be the pivotal factor for the overall success of this team.
11

Parkview Baptist

EBR Metro Championship12With the exception of a select few, this team has not been near what we saw a few weeks earlier at the St. Joseph's Invitational. This isn't to say that this team has not been running well, there is a reason to why this team is still ranked so highly, but from the results that we have seen, the team has wavered slightly from its best race earlier in the season. At the end of the day, the team still garnered an admirable fourth-place team and finished behind Zachary with an impressive 1-5 split of 39 seconds.
12

St. Michael

EBR Metro Championship8St. Michael had a routine race. The usual trio at the front with a close following of an additional three. There was nothing too out of the ordinary for this race. The team placed fifth overall.
13

Mandeville

District 6-5A Championship10
14

Episcopal of Acadiana

Jack Schommer13
15

Walker

EBR Metro Championship14This was not an amazing race for Walker. Its low stick, Jacob Kennedy had a great race, placing second, but most of the rest of the team were off from their usual performances. The team placed sixth overall, finishing in the midst of other renowned ranked teams.
16

E.D. White

Dr. Richard Morvant Invitational15The Cardinals unleashed the junior varsity just this once. The team placed third overall.
17

Central Lafourche

District 7-5A19Central Lafourche took home an easy win, nabbing the team title with just 26 points. In addition to that, the team accomplished the feat of placing five runners within the top nine. This isn't the greatest performance, based on time, but that is due to vary by each individual course.
18

Dutchtown

EBR Metro Championship16Dutchtown placed seventh in a loaded field and was not too far off of some previous season bests. This is not the team's best performance, but there is no telling to what may unfold later in the qualifiers for the state meet.
19

David Thibodaux STEM Academy

District 4-4A23This was a promising race for STEM Academy. We saw plenty of solid performances, none being a personal best, but still being some of the best times that this team has run all season.
20

Erath

District 5-3A21It was no competition for Erath at district. The team recorded a perfect score with no other teams pitted against them.
21

St. Paul's School

District 6-5A Championship17
22

Benton

District 1-5A26Benton took a dominant second place behind Parkway, placing two runners within the top ten. This was a general success for the top runners on the team. The team saw several personal bests in preparation for the road to the state meet.
23

D'arbonne Woods

North Louisiana Championship20D'Arbonne had some positives and some negatives to this race. The good news is that this team's front runners continue to perform where they are needed. The downside is that this team's remaining runners fell off a little bit during this race.
24

Slidell

District 6-5A Championship24
25

University Lab School

EBR Metro Championship25It was a great day for University Lab. The team placed eighth overall and collected a series of personal bests. The improvement of this team is promising for the post-season.
26

Baton Rouge High

EBR Metro Championship30Baton Rouge continues to impress and climb the ranks. This is more of an underdog team, having to prove themselves each race, and they are beginning to make up some ground on the rest of the teams that competed this past week.
27

Newman

Dr. Richard Morvant Invitational22Newman claimed an easy win with a score of 23 points. The team placed six runners within the top eight and closed out the meet with relatively no challenge. It was clear that this was more of a group effort rather than individual racing.
28

Barbe

District 3-5ANRBarbe crowned themselves district champions with a team score of 22 points. The team performed exactly how they were supposed to do and swept the top three positions. This was really a great day for Barbe, no negatives anywhere.
29

Alexandria

North Louisiana ChampionshipNRAlexandria really surprised most of us this past weekend. The team took third overall and even had two of its runners run below the 17-minute barrier.
30

Ponchatoula

District 6-5A Championship28

Just missed: Belle Chasse, St. Martin's Episcopal, West Monroe
