Jesuit

SJA Cross Country Invitational
Nike XC Town Twilight Invitational 2022
1Jesuit had its original plans canceled, but the team still laid out a dramatic performance in Terre Haute, Indiana. This was the greatest team performance in Louisiana history, on top of some of the best solo efforts for 5k in Louisiana history as well. The team had the insane average of 15:22 for 5k and won the team title. The Blue Jays have been nonstop this season and will most likely continue to dominate all the way to RunningLane.
2

Brother Martin

2Though the Crusaders are no Jesuit, that does not take away the incredible team performance that they had this past weekend. The team had four within the top seven and finished with a team average of 15:24! Not only that, but the team won by 77 points over Catholic High. To dominate within the state that well is not an easy task, especially when it comes to beating the distance dynasty of Catholic High.
3

Catholic High

4The Grizzlies had a very strong showing this past weekend with Matthew Maynard breaking barriers. The rest of the team performed extraordinarily as well, with their fifth coming in at 16:14! This is just another stepping stone for the Catholic High program. There is so much more that this team can do, but this meet is a great example of the team's fitness.

Garmin MileSplit TX XC Invitational3
5

Parkway High School

5Parkway took home a very respectable 4th place finish behind some of the pinnacle distance programs in the state. On top of that, this meet was HUGE for the Panthers. The majority of the team dropped an abundance of time and had only 51 seconds of separation.
6

Teurlings Catholic

ESA Ain't No Shade7Teurlings took home an easy win after placing five within the top ten. This was another great race where individual runners had the opportunity to flex their fitness. Most of the team ran a personal best, especially Noah Bernard, who stepped up in a huge way in comparison to his last performance.
7

Holy Cross

6We saw a hefty performance from Holy Cross' top three runners. They were in the mix with the top runners in the field and scored some new personal bests in doing so. The remaining two of the top five also ran well, however, since the gap is so large between them and their top three, the team lost out on the chance to userp Parkway.
8

Episcopal

8Though Episcopal did lose to Mandeville and St. Michael this past weekend, it does not show the entire picture. In the terms of competition in the entire state, the Knights reign in a small victory over the two. The team heavily benefited from the performance of Sacha Dernoncourt, however, the rest of the team stepped up in a large way. Every member of Episcopal ran a HUGE personal best and there is most likely room to grow when taking into account how young some of the team's top runners are.
9

Mandeville

24This was a big step for Mandeville this past weekend. The team has had some off performances earlier in the season, but maybe they are pulling it together as we enter deeper into the fall season. This performance is leaps and bounds ahead of how the team performed previously, so whatever was done to bring about this performance, we hope that it is replicated for future competition.
10

Zachary

11The Broncos had a more moderate response to ideal conditions in Baton Rouge. We saw exactly what we expected to see from these runners, with the exception of a few personal bests. These athletes still ran some of the best times in their careers, so this was not a bad day. Although, what really makes a difference is the re-emergence of Rhen Langley.
11

St. Michael

9St. Michael was another team with moderate results. Nothing that really stands out from their other performances, with the exception of a few season bests. However, an interesting trend to follow is still Cooper Hunt. This freshman continues to improve each race and it makes you wonder how well he will perform at the final stage of the season.
12

Parkview Baptist

12This was PRs galore for Parkview Baptist. Every single member of this team that ran scored a personal best. This includes an incredible performance by its top four runners. These four ran so well that they dropped unimaginable amounts of time from their previous performances this season.
13

Walker

10Walker was yet another team to have an above-average day at the St. Jo's Invitational. The team fared well; not dropping as much time as other teams, but still improving on previous marks from earlier in the season.
14

Episcopal of Acadiana

ESA Ain't No Shade13ESA took 2nd at its home meet and hosted a collection of personal bests from its athletes. We saw personal bests from the majority of the team, as well as, two top ten finishes. Acadiana is continuing to improve and there is no telling if the conditions were as ideal as they were in Baton Rouge.
15

Newman

Border Wars Invitational30Newman made the pilgrimage up to Rock Island, Illinois, and benefitted heavily from the colder conditions. The team was able to sneak one within the top ten and two just shy of it. The entirety of the top five managed to dive below the 18-minute mark, which allowed the team to take 3rd overall.
16

Central Lafourche

14This was a MASSIVE win for Central Lafourche. The collective performance of all of these athletes resulted in either a season or personal best. Either way, each of these runners improved dramatically in comparison to previous performances in the season. Above all else, the most impressive performance from this team was from freshman, Trevin LeBouef. The strides that he has taken at such a young age have truly made an incredible impact on this team.
17

Vandebilt Catholic

21We have continued to see consistent improvement from Vandebilt this season and it doesn't look to stop here. The team took 13th place after a string of personal bests from every member of its team. The future of this team is promising.
18

David Thibodaux STEM Academy

ESA Ain't No Shade27David Thibodaux had some solid improvement, not from the lead pack, but from the latter half of the top five. This development is huge for the team, as it closes in on its 1-5 gap and offers better opportunities to beat larger teams. STEM Academy took a favorable 3rd place.
19

E.D. White

25E.D. White showed out this past weekend with all-around improvements from its athletes. Roughly every member of this team scored a personal best of about 30 seconds.
20

Slidell

NRSlidell put together an incredible race this past weekend. This team substantially improved upon its previous performances to where it is unrecognizable to where it was.
21

St. Paul's School

22St. Paul's is still on the positive trend as it continues to improve each week.
22

Dutchtown

28Dutchtown is making a comeback after once again improving upon previous marks. The team is making small, but purposeful gains in its fitness.
23

University Lab School

15University Lab felt the absence of John Hall Hays, which left Blayton Bernard alone in the front. However, the team made significant improvements when it came to personal bests. If this team reconvenes as it is alongside John Hall Hays, then we may be in for a show.
24

Belle Chasse

Mount Carmel Cub Run16
25

Erath

26Erath continues to show promise but had some give and take when it came to results from this past weekend. Most were positive with PRs and season bests being shared across the board. Not to mention, we are seeing a formidable Dax Boudreaux re-enter the scene.
26

Ponchatoula

29Ponchatoula was yet another team that experienced the magic of the St. Jo's Invitational. We saw personal bests across the board for this team and a revival of promise for this program.
27

Baton Rouge High

NRBaton Rouge is more of a wild card but must be accounted for after the team's performance from this past weekend. The times put out by the athletes on this team are often inconsistent, but the times do not lie. These runners have talent, it's just a matter of becoming more consistent.
28

St. Thomas More

ESA Ain't No Shade18St. Thomas More did not have as stellar performance as some teams. This was more of something that we expected that this team could do, mixed in with one or two off performances. This does not spell the end of this team's season, but rather more experience under the belts of these runners.
29

Lafayette High

20This was not a fantastic performance by Lafayette. The stars were aligned with amicable weather and stout competition and we still saw some average performances from this team. This doesn't mean that this was a bad race, just something to work on for the team.
