Baton Rouge, La. – Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns competed at the LSU Alumni Gold meet this past weekend in Baton Rouge, La. The meet featured several past Olympians and some of the best runners in the nation. UL’s Chris Roy again won the pole vault. He won the meet with a height of 5.25m which came up just short of the school record.
Breshaud Woodard finished fourth in men’s 110m hurdles. He was the highest finisher for the Cajuns the track events. Woodard finished as third best collegiate athlete as the first place finisher was a pro. The highest finisher for the women was Taryn Simmons who finished fourth in the 400m hurdles. Her time of 1:00.04 was good enough to qualify for the NCAA Regionals. The Cajuns will be back in action next weekend at the NSU Invitational Saturday in Natchitoches, La.
