ULM Cross Country Opens Season Saturday

MONROE, La. –ULM cross country opens its season Saturday hosting the Warhawk Invitational at Chenault Park Golf Club.

"I'm extremely excited to finally get the competition phase of our season underway,” ULM head cross country coach William Rogers said. “Over the past month I've been quite impressed with the work ethic of the entire group.”

The women’s team grabbed the top five spots in last season’s Warhawk Invitational and Andrew Opata took second for the men. Louisiana-Lafayette, UT-Tyler, Northwestern State, Louisiana College, Centenary College, Grambling State, and East Texas Baptist will be the schools competing along with ULM.

“Individually I'll look for Andrew, Britt Koestler, Kendall Robbins, and Moses Chelimo to lead the way for our team on the men's side,” Rogers said. “For the women's team I expect Brittany Blackmon to lead the way.”

The meet begins at 8:45 a.m. Saturday for the men and the women will get underway at 9:20 a.m.
