As runners from all over the state travel towards Covington, the epicenter for running in Louisiana, a bold but deserving statement for this night of the 24th. - They will most likely travel along Interstates 110, 55, and 10. As a majority of them will choose this later option and head west, there will be a small contingent traveling along this same roadway but coming from the east beyond our borders.
Many will be dressed in costumes, teamed to run relays, or focused to attempt personal running goals in the various open races. However, recent graduates from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Vincent Rono and Tonny Okello have a very specific goal in mind for a very specific race.
They will spend several hours driving from their training grounds in Alabama, but will be attempting to have done what they came to Covington to do in a little less than four. Bringing in their own rabbits and chasing a cash purse which doubles with the breaking of this barrier in the mile - Everyone in the LA running community who decides to make this trip to Covington next Saturday will be guaranteed a very memorable show.
