STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Louisiana Tech junior Michael Coleman reminded people why he was a 2007 All-American and junior Nadia Alexander continued a strong junior campaign this past weekend at the 2008 Bulldog Invitational on the campus of Mississippi State University.

The marks set by Coleman and Alexander were the highlights of a strong meet for Tech on both the men's and women's side. Coleman ran a time of 20.97 seconds in the men's 200-meter dash for an NCAA Regional Qualifying Mark, while Alexander hit the mark in the women's shot at 51 feet, 3.50 inches. Both were first place finishes.

"I thought the kids raced well," Tech head coach Gary Stanley. "It sets us up for good Texas Relays next week. We're taking a look at kids in some other events and we're getting ready for one of the most prestigious meets in the United States."

Tech ran two 4x400-meter relay teams and took both the first and second places with times of 3:44.73 and 3:56.07, while three Techsters swept the top three places in the women's triple jump led by sophomore Latoya Collins at 38 feet, 11.25 inches. Junior Christina Tupper and freshman Quatisha Williams followed with marks of 38-8.00 and 38-4.00, respectively.
