Dalrymple, Taku Pace Tulane on Final Day of Tyson Invite, ISU Classic
Feb. 16, 2008
NEW ORLEANS - Freshman Laurie Dalrymple ran a season-best time in the 3,000-meter run, and sophomore Nicolette Taku placed 10th in the triple jump to lead the Tulane University women's track and field team Saturday at their respective meets - the Iowa State Classic and the Tyson Invitational.
Dalrymple ran the 3,000m in 10:04.47 on the final day of the Iowa State Classic at the Lied Recreation Facility on the Iowa State University campus. Her time is a 2008 team and personal best and the time is good enough for fifth all-time in Tulane history. Taku finished 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 12.14m (39-10.00) at the Tyson Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the University of Arkansas campus.
Also at the Iowa State Classic was senior Keriann Langley who finished 11th in the non-seeded section of the 3,000m with a time of 10:26.53. Senior Shanon Beelendorf also ran at the Tyson Invite, finishing 24th in the 800m with a time of 2:16.28.
The Green Wave will be in action Feb. 22 at the LSU Twilight in Baton Rouge, La. All Tulane track and field news, interviews and meet results are available on the web at www.TulaneGreenWave.com.
