BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Louisiana Tech track and field head coach Gary Stanley said he was extremely pleased with his young team's effort at the Indiana Relays over the weekend as Tech prepares to compete in the 2008 WAC Indoor Championships in Boise, Idaho, in under a month.

"It was long trip, but I'm glad we came up here to run on banked track and give the athletes a glimpse of what's going to be at the conference meet," Stanley said. "We have ton of young runners who have never ran on a banked-indoor track in high school. We got a good look at the new kids and we're very excited about the future."

Senior thrower Nadia Alexander finished with an NCAA Provisional Mark and a collegiate first place finish in the women's shot after a hurl of 52 feet, 00.25 inches, while senior Matt Craig took a second place finish in the long jump at 23-5.75.

Sophomore Mike Coleman took a third place finish in the men's 200 with a time of 21.62 seconds, while the team of Coleman, sophomores Al Fullwood and Wade MaGaha along with freshman Marcelles Atkinson clocked a solid time of 3:16.32.

Senior Kinsey Dinnel took a fifth place finish in the mile-run invitational with a 4:14.6 -performance, while junior El Charrita Reynolds ran the top time in the women's 400-meter at 56.07 in the preliminaries. Freshman Chasidee Lewis-Baker also ran a 7.50 in the women's 60, which barely missed an NCAA Provisional Mark.

Tech will return to action in two weeks to compete in the prestigious Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. It will be the final meet before the WAC Championships.
