POLL: Vote on The MileSplit LA Girls' Performer Of The Week!

EAST ASCENSION'S KIRISTEN MCGIRT WATCHES A HER SHOT FLY INTO THE SECTOR AT THE CLASSIC

Here is this week's ballot for MileSplit LA Performer Of The Week. The following athletes are just a handful who turned in impressive performances in Louisiana's indoor opener. The winner of this poll will move to compete for 2025 MileSplit LA Girls' Indoor Athlete Of The Year. This poll will close on Saturday at 9pm.

KIRISTEN MCGIRT (EAST ASCENSION)-- Broke the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse composite record in the girls shot put with her winning toss of 49-7.25 at the LSU HS Classic. Her throw was over three feet better than Kristian Jackson's 46-1.75 composite fieldhouse record and over four feet better than Lauren Chamber's 45-5 meet record.

MICHELLE DAIGLE (ST. JOSEPH'S Baton Rouge)-- SJA's senior leader started her indoor season off by winning both the 800m and 3200m at the LSU HS Classic. Daigle's time in the 800m was just a couple of seconds off of her 2024 LHSAA State Indoor Championship personal record time of 2:18.27.

TRISTEN HARRIS (WEST FELICIANA)-- Won both the long jump (19-2) and the 60m (7.47) at the LSU HS Classic. Her time of 7.47 in the 60m tied her for the national lead with the Madeline Cooper, who finished as the runner-up at the Classic. Cooper ran a a 7.47 last month at The Galleria Games in Birmingham, AL.

OLIVIA WOODS (ST. THOMAS MORE) - Woods was all smiles during the girls pole vault competition. It was for good reason. She had to sit out last year due to LHSAA transfer rules. Her jump of 11-5.75 was the best among Louisiana jumpers in the competition and currently ranks No. 1 in the state. It is also tied for No. 12 all-time on the Louisiana indoor list for sophomore girls.

GRACE KEENE (NORTHSHORE) - Keene, who is only a freshman, finished second to Elysian Fields, Tx.'s Cara Sims in the girls' 1600m. Keene's time of 5:09 ranks No. 2 all-time for the indoor 1600m for freshmen girls in Louisiana. Only Parkview Baptist's Lucy Cramer (5:00) has run faster.

EMMA SMITH (DELCAMBRE)- The sophomore finished third in the high jump at the LSU HS Classic. Her performance ranks among the top five all-time for sophomore girls in the MileSplit LA database.

DYNASTY WILFRED (MADISON PREP)-- Wilfred finished second in the 400m at the LSU HS Classic.  Wilfred's time of 57.99 currently ranks No. 2 in Louisiana.
