McNeese's Tinette Burger named SLC cross country runner of the week

McNeese State's Tinette Burger has been named the Southland Conference's female cross country runner of the week.
The sophomore from Upington, South Africa, won the Louisiana Tech invitational meet last week with a 14:38 clocking over four kilometers.
Cowboy runner Mark Hoey, who was the male winner at Louisiana Tech, was a runnerup in the SLC's male balloting for runner of the week. TAM-Corpus Christi standout Shadrack Songok took the men's award after winning the Rice Invitational.
This week McNeese's male and female teams will run at LSU in the Tigers classic. That meet will have the women running 6K beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the men running 8K starting at 9:30 a.m.
