LAFAYETTE, La. --- ULM thrower Walt Williams won the Sun Belt Conference men's discus throw championship in the first day of competition at the league's championship meet at Cajun Track in Lafayette, La.
Williams won the event with a throw of 51.34 meters (168-5.00) and earned the Warhawk men's team 10 points.
On the women's side, La'Shara Jefferson and Destiny Montemayor earned all-Sun Belt honors in the women's discus with second and third-place finishes. Jefferson placed second with a throw of 46.43 meters (152-04), followed by Montemayor with a throw of 45.79 meters (150-3.00). The placings earned ULM 14 points for the women's team.
Jessica Baldino finished 15th in the women's 10,000-meter run with a time of 43:01.97.
