Southeastern Men Place 5th, Women 6th, at Carl Knight Invitational

Nacogdoches, Tx.- The Southeastern track and field teams wrapped up the final day of competition at the 2014 Skecher's Carl Knight Invitational, hosted by Stephen F. Austin.
 
The men's team placed 5th out of 14 squads, earning forty-eight points; while the women combined for 53.50 points, placing 6th.
 
Senior Abram Taylor turned in the lone first-place performance of the weekend, winning the men's 100-meter hurdles event. The Hammond native posted a winning time of 14.01 seconds.
 
Also on the men's side, Brandon Daniels placed second in two events. The senior posted times of 10.62 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 21.36 seconds in the 200-meter dash, earning ten points for the Lions.
 
On the women's squad, four Lady Lions recorded top-three performances. Sophomore Sharon Ann Ourso placed second in the women's pole vault event, posting a mark of twelve feet, 1.67 inches. Junior Brookais Milton also placed second in her respective event, jumping a distance of eighteen feet, 1.32 inches in the women's long jump.
 
Also earning points for the Lady Lions were senior Alicia Noel in the women's 400-meter hurdles (2nd, 1:01.86) and junior Charlyn Miller in the women's 100-meter hurdles (14.39).
 
On deck for the Southeastern is the McNeese Springtime Classic in Lake Charles on April 12th.
