DAVIS AND WILLIAMS WIN EVENTS AT LSU TWILIGHT

BATON ROUGE, La. --- Heather Davis and Walt Williams picked up wins for ULM at the LSU Twilight indoor track and field meet on Friday night.
Davis, a sophomore from Spring, Texas, won the women's high jump with a leap of 1.66 meters (5' 5.25"). Senior Felicia Lee finished second in the event with a jump of 1.64 meters (5' 4.50").
Williams, a senior from Grenada, won the men's shot put and weight throw. His distance in the shot was 16.55 (54' 3.75") meters, while the weight throw was 15.66 meters (51' 4.50"). Sophomore transfer Seth Ilaoa finished third in the shot and second in the weight throw, while freshman Wesley Richard finished third in the weight throw.
"We had a really good day," said ULM head coach J.D. MALONE. "This was a great tune-up for us before we head to the Sun Belt Conference meet next weekend."
ULM continues competition on Feb. 24-25 at the 2007 Sun Belt Conference Championship Meet in Jonesboro, Ark. This will be the Warhawks first season of competition in the Sun Belt.
