Southeastern Wraps Up Regular Indoor Season in Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge, La. - The Southeastern Louisiana University track and field teams competed in the LSU Twilight on Friday, the final meet of their regular indoor season.

"Collectively, I thought we had an outstanding meet," said head coach Sean Brady. "We got the chance to run against some Olympic qualifiers. It's always good to match up with those folks."

The women's 4x400-meter relay team turned in the first top performance of the day, as freshman Bayliegh Butler, sophomore Domonique White, freshman Vanessa Williams, and senior Alicia Noel combined for a winning time of 3:58.85.

Senior Jeffrey Milliron gave another first-place performance in the men's weight throw, tossing for sixty-seven feet, 8.75 inches. Milliron is currently second-best in the conference in this event; behind teammate Jonathan Kinchen, who tossed for a conference-best mark (20.65m, 67-09.00) in January at the McNeese Cowboy Invitational. Junior Brett Olsen currently holds the third-best toss in the conference.

Olsen (19.16m, 62-10.50) placed third in the weight throw, while Kinchen (4th, 18.91m, 62-00.50) and Jimmy LeBlanc (6th, 17.36m, 56-11.50) finished close behind.

Milliron also placed second in the men's shot put (17.92m, 58-09.50), while Olsen (16.89m, 55-05.50), Kinchen (15.62m, 51-03.00), and LeBlanc (14.84m, 48-08.25) finished third, fourth, and sixth, respectively.

Brendon Mitchell placed second in the men's 400-meter dash (51.82), while senior Joseph LeGrange came in 4th in the men's 3000-meter run (9:16.12). Brandon Daniels came in fourth (7.31m, 23-11.75) in the men's long jump.

Sophomore Misha Frazier placed second in two events. The reigning Louisiana Female Freshman of the Year tossed for fifty-eight feet, 08.00 inches in the women's weight throw. Brianna Golden was close behind in fourth (17.83m, 58-06.00).

Frazier also posted a mark of forty-eight feet, 2.5 inches in the women's shot put, currently the best toss in the Southland Conference.

"Today's performance will really help us going into Tuesday when we leave for conference," said Brady. "We're rested. We're healthy. It's just a matter of putting it together on the day now."

The Southland Conference Track and Field Indoor Championships are set for February 26-27 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.
