Trafton Academy Girls Score Perfect at Tangi CC Invite

Trafton’s Layla Williams and Emma Nicaud went 1-2 in the Sub-Elementary girls division of the 2013 Tangi Cross Country Invitational held on the STA campus in Hammond.  Williams ran (3:19.81) and Nicaud ran(3:20.02),  while teammate Sidney Gill was eighth(3:52).  St. Joseph’s Marley Richard led the team with a fourth place finish(3:36) and Ava Downey was 14th for SJS(3:57),  while Mariah Robertson from Sumner was seventh(3:46) and Holy Ghost’s Bronwyn Doan earned the fifteenth place medal(3:59).  St. Peter won the team competition with (45),  St. Joseph’s was second(86),  Trafton Academy third(95),  Holden fourth(98),  Sumner fifth(102),  Cedarwood sixth(123),  Holy Ghost seventh(151)  and Hammond Westside eighth(217).  

St. Peter also won the Sub-Elementary boys division with(22),  Hammond Westside was second(68),  Sumner was third(77),  St. Joseph fourth(91)  and Holden fifth(118).  CES’s Chaz Copeland was the individual winner(3:15),  while Albany Elementary’ Taylor Purvis was second(3:20),  Sumner’s Detavien Hunter was third(3:24),  Trafton’s Jace Caves was fourth(3:25),  SJS’s Ethan Laurent was 11th(3:40) and HGS’s Lance Cambre earned the 15th place medal(3:45).  

The Trafton girls captured the team title in the Elementary girls division with (20),  Albany Upper Elementary was second(61),  Lake Castle third(92),  St. Peter fourth(105),  Hammond fifth(126),  Sumner sixth(133),  Levi Milton seventh(180) and Holden eighth(208).  St. Joseph’s Jayda Babin won the individual title with a winning time of (6:37),  Trafton’s Breanna Becerra was second(6:42),  Presley Walls(TA) was fifth(6:58),  Jourdan St. Romaine(TA) sixth(7:04),  Abbie Parrish(TA) seventh(7:05),  Jada Clark(TA) 11th(7:18),  Jadyn Richard(SJS) 12th(7:22) all earned medals.  

Christ Episcopal won the Elementary boys division with (49),  Lake Castle was second(54),  Albany third(89),  Sumner fourth(103),  Holy Ghost fifth(107),  Levi Milton sixth(140),  Holden seventh(169),  St. Peter eighth(217)  and Hammond ninth(269).  Trafton’s Konnor Poche was the individual champion(6:03),  while Sumner’s Daelyn Haney was second(6:18),  St. Jo’s Carson Thibodeaux was fifth(6:27),  HGS’s Brandt Jones was fourteenth(6:44)  and Brody Doan was 15th(6:51).  

The St. Joseph’s girls edged-out the Sumner girls 47-48 to win the Middle School girls division with(48),  Trafton was third(71),  St. Peter’s fourth(91) and Hammond fifth(120).  PCA’s Lily Maggio captured the individual win in (6:17),  while Hammond’s Shakendra Brumfield was third(6:34),  Sumner’s Abby Hodges was fourth(6:36),  Trafton’s Presley Walls was fifth(6:50),  SJS’s Paige Bankston was ninth(6:54),  HGS’s Hannah Lyons was tenth(6:55),  Madison Gill(SJS) 11th(7:01),  Jourdan St. Romaine(TA) 12th(7:02),  Abbie Parrish(TA) 13th(7:02) and Skylar Cheek(SJS) was fifteenth(7:11).  

Sumner won the Middle School boys division with a sixth man tie breaker against Christ Episcopal(39-39), Sumner’s number six was 17th,  while CES’s sixth runner was 21st.  Holy Ghost was third(78),  Lake Castle fourth(100)  and St. Peter fifth(110).  Trafton’s Mason Thompson was the individual winner in (6:02),  while Sumner’s Dominic Haney was sixth(6:12) and teammate Colby Russell was seventh(6:15).  

The Trafton Academy girls scored a perfect score of (15) to win the JH girls team title over St. Joseph’s with (48) and Sumner was third(64).  Trafton swept the top five positions,  Emma Littell led the way with the victory in (13:19),  Anne Byerley was second(13:42),  Maggie Crawford third(13:44),  Madelyn Nicaud fourth(13:47) and Abby Bates fifth(14:33).  Albany’s Layla D’fonseca was sixth(14:34),  SJS’s Jayda Babin seventh(14:53),  Sumner’s Leah Warner was tenth(15:15),  while SJS’s Peyton Lesaicherre 13th(15:36) and Paige Bankston 15th(16:10).  

Albany Middle edged-out the Trafton boys (29-31) to capture the JH boys division,  Holy Ghost was third(63)  and Lake Castle fourth(118).  Trafton’s Victor Harvey won the individual title(12:18),  teammate Dylan Dunaway was second(12:31),  followed by Albany’s Kenneth Kelly 3rd(12:37) and Drew Thompson 4th(12:47).  TA’s Dawson Gildig was fifth(12:48) and AMS’s Logan Lucas sixth(12:55) and Wayne Hubert seventh(13:03),  HGS’s Jude Vitrano was eighth(13:06), Kollin Poche(TA) 11th(13:19),  HGS’s Leo deploy 12th(13:22) and Ethan Jackson 13th(13:24),  Trafton’s James Pesson was 14th(13:26).
