ULM CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT NSU INVITE

Monroe, La. --- Five members of the ULM Cross Country team competed Monday at the Northwestern State Invitational on Demon Hills Golf Course in Natchitoches, La. Due to illnesses throughout the team, the Warhawks were unable to take their full squad on the trip.


Senior Maya Aden finished fourth in the men\'s 8-kilometer race with a time of 25:05.04, a personal record at Demon Hills for him. Ennocent Ekara finished 48th, posting a time of 34:53.77. Senior Matt Brophy also ran in the race, but was unable to finish.


Junior Jessica Baldino was the top Warhawk on the women\'s side, finishing sixth in the 5K race with a time of 19:29.05, a personal best for her. Junior Chardonnay Denman finished 23rd, completing the race in 21:56.38.


\"We have had a tough week of illnesses, but I am pleased with how we competed tonight\" said ULM cross country coach Toby Reep. \"It was extremely hot, 92 degrees, and I am proud of our individuals who competed at such a high level under those conditions.\"


Up next for the Warhawks will be their toughest challenge yet, when they compete in the Arkansas Chili Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark on Oct. 14.
