MEET HAS BEEN MOVED TO THURSDAY APRIL 30TH. WE WILL FOLLOW THE SAME STARTING TIMES OF 1:00PM FIELD AND 3:00PM RUNNING. MEET WILL HOST REGION 1-5A AND REGION 1-4A.

Pre Meet Information

Admission

  • $10 for adults and students; children under five are free. NSU will provide a weblink for cashless payment closer to meet day. 

Coaches Packet:

  • Coachs packet will be available for pick up from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Implement Room at the north end of the track

Entry Fee:

  • The entry fee will be $170 per school regardless of the number of competitors qualified. The entry fee will cover the cost of the following: meet timing, starters fees, referee fees, Hy-tech operator fees and awards.

  • Please make check payable to: Barbe High School

Athletic Training

  • First Aid station will be located next to the check in Facility at the south end of the stadium. Ruston and Barbe will have training staff on hand. They will coordinate with other team athletic trainers if you plan on having your teams athletic trainer on site as well. Stretching and other services of that nature will not be provided by athletic trainers. 

Coaches/Officials Hospitality

  • The Implement Room at the north end of the track will provide hospitality for coaches and officials.

Meet Procedures

Officials Technical Meeting

11:00 - 11:30 Implement Room at the north end of the track

Coaches Technical Meeting

11:30 - 12:00 Implement Room at the north end of the track

Starting TimeField events 1:00 p.m.

Running events  3:00 p.m. (4 x 800)

Implement weigh in11:30 - 12:30

  • All implements will be checked in and impounded.  Implement weigh- in will be located by the scoreboard outside of the track building. Any implements failing inspection will be impounded and held by meet management until the event is completed.  

  • Implements not checked in may not be used for warm-up.

Awards

  • Team championship trophy and runner-up for both boys and girls

  • Individual and relay medals for first, second and third place finishers

Scoring  

  • Individual: 10-8-6-4-2-1

  • Relays: 10-8-6-4-2-1

Team Areas

  • Team areas may be established outside the perimeter of the fence.  No team areas are allowed in the stands or around the oval.

Warm-up

  • Athletes are to warm up on the soccer field. Hurdles will be available on the soccer field for warm-up.

Coaches

  • Coaches are allowed on the track (not the infield) during the field events until 30 minutes (3:00 p.m.) to the start of the 4x800.

  • Coaches will be allowed around the perimeter of the track throughout the rest of the competition.

Field Event Information: Horizontal Jumps/Throws

  • One flight of 12 will be established worst to best according to entrees. The seven best prelim performances will advance to the finals in the field events.

Field Event Information: Vertical Jumps

  • Starting height for the high jump will be 3 lower than the lowest competitors performance entered.  Starting height for the pole vault will be 6 lower than the lowest competitors performance entered.

Pole Vault Verification

  • Pole Vault verification sheets must be turned into the Field Referee Mr. Joe Moreau prior to the start of the pole vault competition.

  • Pole Vaulters will be weighed at check in.

Running Events

  • Alley start with 1 turn stagger for the 800

  • Waterfall start for the 1600, 3200 and 4 x 800 

  • One heat of eight & one heat of four will be run in the following events:

    • 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, 100, 200, 400, 100h/110h, 300h

Scratches

  • All scratches must be submitted before 12:00 noon, Monday April 27th, in writing via email to morgan.smith@lincolnschools.org.  Do NOT Scratch your athlete(s) on MileSplit. According to the LHSAA by-laws, you must notify the coach of the alternate athlete.  The meet director will then scratch your athlete and replace your athlete with the alternate. The heat sheets will go out after this deadline ASAP for your review.  

Check-in

  • All athletes in the running events must check in with the clerk of the course (located at the north end of the track), 30 minutes prior to their event. Final call will take place 20 minutes prior to event start time. Field event competitors should check in at the event site 30 minutes prior to the event.

Spike Check (new)

  • Spike Check will be held at the scoreboard area outside of the track building starting at 10am. Be sure and have your athletes check spikes first thing. 

  • Athletes must complete spike check prior to accessing the race and field event check in areas. Athletes will not be allowed to compete without having their spikes checked. 

  • Acceptable spikes are  1/4 pyramid

Relay Personnel

  • District entries allow up to 8 athletes to be entered for the relays. These athletes will be locked in on the mile split platform for the regional and state meet entries. Relay cards will be filled out at the end of the meet.

  • Polyurethane surface of 8-42 lane track and runways for vault, high jump, and                                                    horizontal jumps.  spikes only please

  • Polyurethane javelin approach. spikes only please

  • Water fall: 1600 meter run & 3200 meter run

  • One turn stagger alleys (White/green): 800 meter run 

  • One turn stagger (white/green): 200 meter dash

  • Two turn stagger (white): 400 meter dash & 4x100 meter relay

  • Three turn stagger (white/blue): 4x400 meter relay

  • Four turn stagger (white/red): 4x200 meter relay

Exchange zones 

  • 4x100-yellow (1st exchange: Airline, Sulphur ,2nd exchange: Huntington, ASH , 3rd exchange: Ruston, Barbe)

  • 4x200 red (1st exchange: West Monroe, Sam Houston), red (2nd exchange: Haughton, Ouachita), and yellow (3rd exchange: West Monroe, Sam Houston)

  • 4x400/4x800 blue (Ruston and Barbe)
