BIRMINGHAM – Northwestern State’s Wayne Douglas took sixth in the men’s long jump Friday night at the Vulcan Invitational indoor track and field meet hosted by Alabama-Birmingham, with the bulk of the competition set for Saturday.
Douglas lept 23-0 ¾ and will compete in his specialty, the triple jump, on Saturday.

Keona Jackson, 42-9 ½, ninth in women’s shot put
