LAFAYETTE - The Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns men's and women's cross country teams performed well Saturday, at the Popeye's Ragin' Cajun Invite, at Acadiana Park.

The University of Louisiana women finished second, with 55 points and the men finished third with 74 points.

"The women participated in a 4K run and the men's run was 8K. "This was a solid first meet for us," said Head Coach Lance Veazey. "I think our kids performed well out there today."

Sophomore Suzanne Boudreaux led the way for the women, finishing ninth, with a time of 21:43:24. For the men, Justin Lemaire had a solid outing, with a sixth place finish.

"It was good to see Suzanne and Justin come out and compete the way they did," added Veazey.

Ben Schexnayder also finished in the Top 10, with an eighth place finish, at 28:50.42.

"We got off to a pretty good start and I am looking forward to next week's meet." added Veazey.
