The winner will advance to the ballot for MileSplit LA Boys' Outdoor Athlete of the Year at the end of the season. This ballot will close on Saturday at 9pm.
HENRY MENSMAN (CATHOLIC)-- Mensman was flying in College Station this weekend. His 20.90 is a personal record and the fastest 200m time in Louisiana during Week No. 1. Mensman is the only sprinter in the state who broke the 21 second barrier.
SANJAYA FALCON (HUNTINGTON)-- Falcon won the D&H High School Meet on Saturday with a time of 11.09. Earlier in the meet, Falcon ran on the Huntington 4x200m relay which won with a time of 1:28.7. It was Falcon's second meet of the week as he ran the second leg on Huntington's 4x100m on Thursday which ran a state-leading time of 41.77.
JAXON TALLEY(WEST MONROE)-- It didn't take Talley long to make is mark on the 2026 outdoor season. Talley launched the javelin out to 213-9 at the D&H Sports High School Meet on his first throw. It's the No. 1 throw in the nation this year and bumps St. Thomas More freshman Slade Boudreaux (206-10) to No. 2.
JOHN HENRY FITZGERALD (ST. THOMAS MORE)-- Fitzgerald ran a 9:37.67 at the Charles Lancon Invite on Friday. It's the No. 1 time in the state after Week No. 1.
JACK REDING (SOUTH LAFOURCHE)-- Don't know what Reding did after winning the LHSAA Class 4A state championship in the discus with a throw of 168-1.75, but whatever he did it worked. Reding opened up his junior season with a monster throw of 176-11. It's the No. 1 throw in Louisiana and No. 5 throw in the nation among junior boys. Reding's throw came at the Thibodaux High School Invitational.
