Ben Chretien and Jarrett LeBlanc Win Their Events At The Northwestern State Invitatio

 NATCHITOCHES-- McNeese State won the men's javelin and 5,000 meter run here Saturday at the Northwestern State Invitational. 

Ben Chretien won the javelin event with a toss of 226' -8" and teammate Wiley Collins placed second with a throw of 214'-0". The Cowboys placed three in the Top 5 of the 5,000 meter run with Jarrett LeBlanc winning the run with a time of 15:23.45 and Jonathon Koenck placing second with a time of 15:25.09. Ryan Barrow finished fourth with a time of 15:56.89.
 

Other Top 5 finishes for the Cowboys had Lance Ardoin placing fourth in the pole vault with a height of 14'-11" and Thomas Canchola placed third in the shot put with a toss of 53'-1 3/4".
 

Amanda Lejeune had the top finish of the day for the Cowgirls with a second place finish in the javelin with a throw of 130' - 3". The Cowgirls also had three of the 5,000 meter run Top 5 finishers. Tinette Burger placed third with a time of 18:37.09, Candice McCormick placed fourth with a time of 19:02.27 and Fionnuala Ross placed fifth with a time of 19:35.65.
 

Other Top 5 events for the Cowgirls were the 4x100 meter relay team with a third place finish. The relay team was comprised of Paige Lynch, Ashleigh Wells, Kayla Fontenot and Andrea Myers. The 4x400 meter relay team placed fourth with that team made up of Ashleigh Wells Racheal Easton, Conceita Cutrer and Kara Slaydon.
 

Andrea Myers placed third in the high jump with a height of 5'- 3 1/4", La'Shantena Rounds placed fifth in the shot put and hammer throw. She three the shot put 43' - 1 3/4" and the hammer 143' - 2".
