POLL: Vote on the MileSplit LA Boys' Performer Of The Week!

LCA'S TALAN SIEVERS (7) COMPETES IN THE 1600m AT THE LSU QUALIFIER

In the ballot below, you will find the finalists for MileSplit LA Boys' Performer Of The Week. Congratulations to all of the athletes making the ballot. The winner of this poll will move on to compete for MileSplit LA Boys Indoor Athlete Of The Year during the last week of February. This poll will end on Saturday at 9pm.

Amari Clayton (Catholic High Baton Rouge) Finished second in the 400m (49.98) at the McNeese Indoor No. 2 becoming only the third sprinter in the state to break 50 seconds.

Tyler Blissett (Highland Baptist) -- Blissett opened up his junior campaign in impressive fashion. He won the 1600m (4:28.66) and finished third in the 800m with a time of 2:02.

Talan Sievers (Lafayette Christian)--Broke the LCA school record in the 3200m with a time of 9:51. It also ranks No. 11 all-time in Louisiana for sophomore boys. Sievers survived the race, but his shoe and a piece of skin on his small toe were not so lucky. Earlier in the meet, Sievers was sixth in the 1600m with a time of 4:34.

Javonte Taylor (North DeSoto)--Can we just go ahead and refer to Taylor as "Jump Man"? We don't think Michael Jordan will mind after seeing the impressive performance Taylor turned in three jumpin events at the McNeese Indoor No. 2. The only jumping event Taylor didn't compete in was the pole vault. Taylor finished second to Huntington's Landon Gibbs on fewer misses after they both cleared 6-4 in the high jump. Taylor also had a runner-up performance in the long jump where he had a best mark of 20-9.50. I second third in long jump 20-9.50 second 44-11.50

Marquis Butler (Alexandria)--Butler won the triple jump by three feet with an indoor personal record jump of 47-1.5. Butler is the defending Region 1-5A outdoor champion with a personal record 47-7. He picked up in his opener where he left off in 2024.

Terrance Hays (Airline)--The sophomore won the long jump competition at the McNeese Indoor No. 2 with a best of 21-6.

Curtis Harrison (Northwest)--In a stacked field, Harrison came away with a fourth-place finish in the boys' shot put with a throw of 54-6. The throw ranks No. 3 in Louisiana this year.

Ashton Wiggins (Scotlandville)--Wiggins finished third in the 5m with a personal record time of 6.62.
