The 2026 indoor season is right around the corner and it's time to take a look at some of the top returning talent beginning with the sprints. Zachary's Talar Johnson, the state's top returning sprinter, has already signed with Louisiana Tech where she will join a program led by her father, Brian Johnson.
With her next chapter decided, Johnson can focus on running fast and remaining at the top of the rankings of La.'s fastest girls in the state.
Of the state's top returning sprinters, only three ran under 7.70 in 2025. Besides Johnson, there was
Liberty Magnet's
Destiny Harrison (7.65) and
Warren Easton's
Kynnedi Morris (7.65).
