WATCH THE 2025 LHSAA STATE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP LIVE!
The La. HS distance runners in the graph below represent the best of the best. The cream of Louisiana's distance running crop. You can expect that some names will be added to this list tomorrow at the 2025 LHSAA State Cross Country Championships. Only one question remains. Who will it be?
Jesuit's Brady Monahan (14:51) is listed twice. His fastest time in Natchitoches came last year when he ran a 14:58 to finish second to his teammate, Brady Mullen, who set a composite record with a time of 14:44.
Jesuit owns the top eight spots on the list, but if Parkway junior Brennan Robin (14:46)leads a group of talented runners who would like nothing more to bust up the Blue Jays monopoly in the Top eight. Others include Lafayette Christian junior Talan Sievers,(14:41), who wants to return to the top spot at the podium after a disappointing ending to his sophomore campaign. Catholic sophomore Augustin Juneau and Highland Baptist senior Tyler Blissett (14:47) are two other runners who could find their names on this list after the smoke clears on the Northwester State campus.
Jesuit's Connor Fanberg (14:56) will be looking to add another Jesuit Blue Jay name to this list.
There is a Lucy on the girls list as Lucy Thomas shocked everyone at the LHSAA State Cross Country Championships a year ago by upsetting St. Joseph's Michelle Daigle, who had arguably one of the best senior cross country seasons in LHSAA history. Thomas is No. 3 on the list with her 17:25 last year.
Thomas comes into this year's race with a best time of 18:08 at last week's D1 Region 2 Meet where she finished second with a time of 18:08.
There are five runners this year who have run in the mid-17s. Parkview Baptist's Lucy Cramer (state leading 17:27), Mt. Carmel's Stella Junius (17:30), Hathaway's Kaitlyn Sawyer (17:32), Northshore's Grace Keene (17:32), and Ascension Episcopal's Bella Biggerstaff (17:35)
