PARKWAY'S BRENNAN ROBIN MADE UP FOR LOST TIME DURING THE 2026 INDOOR SEASON
The athletes in the ballot below had a great indoor season. They made the ballot for Performer Of The Week and were able to get enough votes to win those POTW honors. Now, it's time to crown the 2026 MileSplit LA Boys' Indoor Athlete Of The Year.
Brennan Robin(Parkway)-- Robin was "on" from the get-go during the 2026 indoor season. Maybe it was a matter of making up for lost time as he missed the entire 2025 indoor season due to a training injury. Whatever it was, Robin established himself as the best distance runner in Louisiana and one of the best of all-time.
John Henry Overton (Catholic)-- Overton sailed to new heights during the 20256 indoor season-literally. The highlight came at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier when everything seemed to be clicking for Overton, who jumped a personal record 15-5. At the LHSAA D1 State Indoor Meet, Overton finished with a jump of 14-11 to finish as the runner. That finish helped his Catholic team win their second consecutive state indoor championship.
Miles Torres(Warren Easton)-- Torres, a senior, made the ballot for Performer Of The Week with his personal record long jump of 22-1.75 at the LSU High School Qualifier. While he was not able to duplicate that at the 2026 LHSAA State Indoor Meet, he still finished third with a jump of 21-10. Torres was also ranked No.11 in the 400m with a personal record 50.40 at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier.
Chauncey Wilkins (Huntington)-- Anytime you talk to Wilkins, you can tell this sophomore is grateful for the opportunity he has had this season to be healthy and compete at full strength. Wilkins posted the fastest time in the state in the 55m with a 6.61 at the McNeese Indoor No. 2. He finished just off the podium at the LHSAA State Indoor Meet with a fourth-place finish after running a personal record 7.01.
Rowan Silk (Denham Springs)-- Silk had two personal records at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier as he ran a 4:24 to win the 1600m before returning to run a 2:00 in the 800m. At the LHSAA State Indoor Meet, he would lower his 1600m personal record to 4:22. The PR party started with a 9:38 in the 3200m which earned Silk a trip to the podium at the LSU High School Qualifier.
Terry Matthews (Acadiana Renaissance)-- With every hurdle race Matthews ran during the 2026 Louisiana high school indoor season he just kept getting faster and faster. That improvement led him to the top spot on the podium at the LHSAA State Indoor Meet after winning the D2 60m hurdles with a time of 8.18.
