MIA CESTIA COMPETES IN LAST YEAR'S PETE BOUDREAUX INVITATIONAL
Congratulations to Benton's Samuel Ivins and St. Thomas More junior Mia Cestia for winning this week's MileSplit LA Performer Of The Week. Both runners will advance to make the poll for the MileSplit LA Runner Of The Year.
Ivins is no stranger to the MileSplit LA Runner Of The Year poll as he won top honors a year ago as a freshman. He is looking to make it two in a row.
Cestia is the No. 8 ranked junior in Louisiana after running a personal record 18:38 at last week's SNL Invitational.
Ivins is ranked No. 12 in Louisiana for the boys in the Class of 2028 and will lead his Tigers into Tuesday's District 1-5A Championship.
Ivins ran away with the boys' poll garnering 2,159 votes. Catholic's William Decuir was the runner-up with 366 votes.
On the girls' side, Cestia captured an incredible 7, 263 votes. She was in a battle with Teurlings Catholic's Abigail Leger, who finished second in the poll with 5,388.
