RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech totaled 20 event champions out of the 33 events and both the men's and women's teams defeated Southeastern Louisiana and Arkansas-Pine Bluff in dual meet scoring at the Jim Mize Invitational Saturday, held at the Jim Mize Track and Field Facility at Louisiana Tech.

The men's team defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 232-137, and topped Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 236-139. Southeastern Louisiana's men defeated UAPB, 168-150. On the women's side, the Lady Techsters defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 260.5-184.5, and beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 264-151. Southeastern Louisiana's women defeated UAPB, 203-175.

The men's team set four personal record marks Saturday as Ruston native Larry Jones won the shot put with a personal best throw of 55' 7.5" and finished third in the discus with a mark of 174' 7". Justin Martin took home the javelin title with a personal best mark of 205' 11".

Jonathan Keys, competing for the first time in 2010, won the long jump with a mark of 21' 8" and finished second in the triple jump with a leap of 47' 0.5". Jonathan Roque was the runner-up to Keys in the long jump with a mark of 21' 0.25.

On the track for the men, redshirt senior Mike Coleman won the 100m dash with a time of 10.71 while Marcelles Atkinson ran 52.54 in the 400m hurdles to claim that event's title. Jack Ramstad won the 3,000m with a time of 8:56.01, edging out Arkansas Pine-Bluff's Geoffrey Kosgei in the final 50m.

Demonte Willis won the 400m with a time of 48.07 while freshman Matt Wolfe claimed the 800m title with a time of 1:55.29.

On the women's side, the Lady Techsters swept the sprints starting with Chasidee Lewis-Baker running 11.84 to win the 100m dash. That kicked off a 1-2-3-4 finish in the 100m for Louisiana Tech as Rakeisha Green placed second with a time of 12.10, Nancy Shelton finished third with a time of 12.14 and Stacia Hanneman ran 12.17 to finish fourth.

In the 200m, Quanisha Sales and Shelton went 1-2 with Sales running 24.05 to win the race and Shelton running 24.87 to place second. The Lady Techsters posted another 1-2 finish as Monique Wright ran 55.70 to place first and Lashannda Worthy ran 56.83 to finish second in the 400m. Jesseka Jones won the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.01.

Brittany Guy tied a personal record as she won the triple jump with a mark of 40' 5" while Quatisha Williams was one inch away from tying a personal record as her 19' 6" jump won the long jump competition. Phelecia Reynolds took the discus title home with a throw of 143' 10" and Micarra Vassell won the shot put, throwing 47' 4".

The Lady Techsters also swept the relays Saturday. The 4x100m relay team of Lewis-Baker, Stacia HannemanQuanisha Sales and Rakeisha Green ran 46.24 for the team's first relay title of the day while the 4x400m relay team of Wright, Worthy, Jones and Shante Benion ran 3:56.60 to record the relay sweep.

Louisiana Tech next returns to the track on March 26-27 when the team travels to Baton Rouge for the LSU Relays.
