ULM'S ADEN IS 26TH IN CHILE PEPPER RACE

The University of Louisiana at Monroe's Maya Aden saw his unbeaten string end but made a respectable showing in the Chile Pepper Invitational against a national-class field Saturday.

The ULM sophomore, who had finished first in his previous three meets, finished 26th among 254 runners in the 10k race. As for the Indian team, it finished 23rd among 35 teams. The meet was won by host Arkansas, led by individual winner Josphat Boit.

Aden was the second Louisiana and Southland Conference runner to finish the race. Boit won with a 29:22.7 time and Aden had 30:47.4. The only Louisiana runner to finish ahead of the ULM star was LSU's Jeffrey Wiggins, who was 24th, and the only SLC runner to finish ahead of Aden was Stephen F. Austin's Marc Farris, who was 22nd.

Other ULM runners were Pat Morgan, who finished 110th with a 32:54.7 time, Danny Webster (158th with 33:59.0), Matt Brophy (159 with 34:01.9), Nathan Hall (180th with 35:15.5) and Clint Breland (190th with 36:05.1).
