Cassandra, Brouckaert lead Loyola Wolfpack at Disney Meet

Orlando, Fla. Jean Cassandra and Richard Brouckaert led Loyola at the Disney Classic held at the Wide World of Sports Complex. Cassandra led Loyola's women in the five kilometer run with a time of 20:17.93 for 99th place. Natalie Sargent followed close behind with a time of 20:37.84 in 124th place. Other women competitors for Loyola were Mary Erin Imwalle in 126th place with a time of 20:42.21, Kim Kujanek in 169th place in 21:37.72, Natalie Miller in 218th place in a time of 22:30.89, and Vicki Lodi in 267th place in a time of 24:17.30.

The Loyola women's team placed 21st in the team standings with 577 points. 32 women's teams compete with 301 individual competitors. Brouckaert, Loyola's top men's runner, ran the eight kilometer race in a time of 28:08.31 finishing in 118th place. Matt Cagigal was the second Wolfpack runner to cross the line in 121st place in a time of 28:10.78. Other men's finishers included Pablo Guth in 29:09.60 for 165th place, Matthew Paluch in 37:19.47 in 255th place, and Sam Sotolongo in 37:54.99 in 257th place. There were 267 competitors in the men's meet.

Loyola finished in 25th place out of 31 teams in the team competition with 711 points.

The Wolfpack will run in the GCAC Championships in Clinton, Mississippi on October 23.
