Loyola track and field competes in LSU Twilight

Baton Rouge, La. – The Loyola University New Orleans track and field team kicked off their season in Baton Rouge on Friday night, running in the LSU Twilight at the Maddox Field House.

For the women, three runners raced in the 60 meter dash with Sarah Tortorich placing 46th at 8.10 seconds. Lauren Fincher ran a 9.02 while Jenna Knoblach followed with a 9.88.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Alex Lain, Tortorich, Fincher and Knoblach, finished the event with a 4:25.72.

In the men’s events, Daniel Afanador ran a 7.44 in the 60 meter dash while Alex hall ran a 7.68. In the mile, Kenny Tsao placed 27th with at five minutes, with Alex and Adam Mayon running a 5:11 and 5:27 respectively.

For the 3,000 meters, Alex Mayon ran a 10:44 to finish 25th. Chris Gragnard ran an 11:32, with Robert Hayden finishing at 11:51.

In the 4x400 relay, the Loyola team of Tsao, Hall, and Neal Outland, ran a 3:45 to round out the night for the Wolfpack.

The track team is back in action on March 13 for the Southern Miss. Invitational.
