Second place showings by Johnathan Koenck in the men's 3000 meter run and by Tinette Burger in the women's 3000 meters paced McNeese State during the LSU Tiger twilight indoor track and field meet Friday.
Koenck posted an 8:40.31 clocking in the event for his runnerup showing while Burger ran 10:09.04 for second in the women's event. Also in the women's 3000 meters, Amy Guinn turned in a 10:11.97 for third place. The meet was the final tuneup for the Cowboys and Cowgirls prior to next week's Southland Conference championship meet in Norman, OK. Other top 10 finishes for McNeese on Friday were a third place by Michael Dyer and a sixth by Ryan Barrow in the men's one mile run, a seventh by Jared Crafton in the weight throw, a third by Napoleon Robicheaux in the long jump, a ninth by Aisling Casey in the women's mile run, a sixth place tie by Erin Kleckley in the women's pole vault, a sixth by La'Shantena Rounds and a ninth by Ashlee Smith in the women's shot put, a fourth by Andrea Myers in the women's high jump and a 10th by Alvy Carragher in the 3000 meters. Dyer ran 4:21.47 in the mile while Barrow posted a 4:27.31. Crafton went 54-03 ¼ in the weight throw and Robicheaux 21-9 in the long jump. For the Cowgirls, Casey ran 5:26.49 in the mile, Kleckley cleared 10-5 ½ in the pole vault, Rounds tossed the shot 43-76 ¾ and Smith 41-5 ¼, Myers cleared 5-4 ½ in the high jump and Carragher ran 10:35.13 in the 3,000 meters.
