WEST OUACHITA'S CARSON ALMON COMES THROUGH THE LINE AT THE RUSTON HIGH INVITATIONAL

In this article, we are going to look at the runners who ran sub 18:00 during the first half of the 2023 season and have improved by a minute or more during the 2024 season.
CARSON ALMOND (WEST OUACHITA)--Look out for the Chiefs of West Ouachita! Led by Almond and junior Jack Kelley, the Chiefs have turned in some impressive performances thus far in the season. Almond, who has a best this season of 16:18 at Parkway's Border Dash, has improved right at 60 seconds from his best 3-mile time during the first half of the 2023 season.
MICHAEL KELLER (PEARL RIVER)-- Keller's best time this season came at the STA Southland Steel Invitational where he finished fourth with a time of 16:50 to finish fourth place. That time is 61 seconds from his best time during the same time period in 2023.
DEACON STANTZ (ST. LOUIS HIGH)-- Stantz has improved 67 seconds over the last calendar year. His best time this season came at the LCA Knights Invitational where he had a top ten finish with a time of 16:01. That's a personal record for Stantz, who is itching to break the 16:00 mark and dip in the 15 high territory.
CHARLIE KAZOUR (METAIRIE PARK COUNTRY DAY)-- Would you argue with us if we told you that MPCD is THE most underrated small-school cross country program in Louisiana? These runners and coaches are doing an incredible job and don't get enough credit. Let's start to change that with recognizing Charlie Kazour, who has improved 1:24 since last year, and the is the most improved senior boy when you look only at those who broke 18:00 during the first half of the 2023 season.
