Airline's Jayden Williams, STA's Celia Adams Win POTW!

AIRLINE'S JAYDEN WILLIAMS CROSSES THE LINE WITH A PR 16:04 AT THE RUSTON HIGH INVITATIONAL

Congratulations to Airline's LA Jayden Williams and St. Thomas Aquainas' Celia Adams. They are this week's MileSplit LA Performer Of The Week. Both athletes will move on to compete for MileSplit LA Athlete Of The Year honors at the end of the season.

Williams received 610 votes, which was 41.55% of the vote. Jesuit's Nicholas Braud was the runner-up with 24.18% of the vote.

Adams received 561 votes, which was 42.96% of the vote. Ruston freshman Eden Dawsey finished as the runner-up in the poll with 350 votes (26.8%).

It's the third straight week a runner from Bossier Parish has won the MileSplit LA Boys' Performer Of The Week. Benton's Brody Hutchison won in Week No. 1. Last week, it was Parkway's Ben Ruliffson.

Adams will join Benton's Claire Allen, the Week No. 1 winner, and St. Joseph's Charlotte Beck, who won the poll last week, on the end-of-year MileSplit LA Girls' Athlete Of The Year.

Williams made the poll by his runner-up performance at the Ruston High Invitational, where the junior ran a personal record 16:4.

Adams, who is only in the eighth grade, made the poll after winning the LCA Knigts Invitational with a personal record time of 18:39.

Look for this week's ballot to come out on Monday. Do you have a runner you would like to nominate? Email MileSplit LA state editor Jerry Byrd at milesplitlaeditor@gmail.com. Nominations are due by 8 pm every Sunday.
