LHSAA State Outdoor Meet: Most Watched Race Videos From 4A!

GERMAIN SMITH-MATA CROSSES THE LINE AFTER THE FASTEST ALL CONDITION 100m IN STATE MEET HISTORY

After taking a few days off, we are back to finish our series on the most watched race video from the LHSAA Class 4A State Outdoor Meet. Today, we are taking a look at Class 4A, where the fans like their sprint events. The most watched race video in both the boys and girls divisions is the 100m.

CLASS 4A BOYS (100m)



Warren Easton's Germain Smith-Mata should have been given a ticket for speeding in the Class 4A boys' 100m. While his wind aided 10.13 was not a legal record, it was the fast all conditions time ever run at an LHSAA State Championship track and field meet.

Lafayette' Christian's Treanders Marzel was second with a time of 10.45. Elstron Longs from West Feliciana was third with a time of 10.55.

All three podium finishers will be lost to graduation, the highest finisher returning next year will be the fourth-place finisher--Neville's Kaleb Vaughn, who clocked a time of 10.58. 

CLASS 4A GIRLS (100m)



In this race, West Feliciana's Tristen Harris showed why she is one of the most highly sought after female prospects going into next year. Harris won the 100m with a time of 11.56. LA Madison Gray from Franklin Sr. High finished second with a time o 12:03, and Warren Easton's Takeila Williams finished third with a 12.05.

Harris' performance in the 100m was not her only personal record of the day, she would go on to win the 200m with a PR of 24.13. For her efforts, Harris was awarded the Class 4A MVP Award. It was her second year in a row taking home the meet's top hardware.
