There are a couple of factors which make those times even more impressive. For starters, she is only a sophomore. In fact, her 1600m time at the state indoor meet ranks No. 10 in the MileSplit database for fastest ever among all sophomore girls.
The other factor which makes Sawyer accomplishments even more amazing is that she does it without the benefit of having a team or training partners who can push her every day in practice, like most of the best female distance runners in the state are blessed with.
