Trevin Lebouef, Aaryona Kinchen Win MileSplit LA POTW!

CENTRAL LAFOURCHE'S TREVIN LEBOUEF (12) COMPETES IN A MEET EARLIER THIS YEAR

Congratulations to Central Lafourche's Trevin Lebouef and Brusly's Aaryona Kinchen. They won our Week No. 5 MileSplit LA Performer of the Week Poll. Lebouef garnered close to 52% of the votes in the MileSplit LA Boys Performer of the Week Poll. Kinchen had almost 55% of the votes in the MileSplit LA Girls Performer of the Week Poll.

Both Lebouef and Kinchen will move on to compete for the MileSplit LA Indoor Athlete of the Year in two weeks.

Liberty's Leah Guy (36%) and Rummel's Caleb Curry (30%) were the runner-up finishers in the voting.

Lebouef made his way onto the poll after becoming Louisiana's No. 1 800m runner at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier, winning the meet with a personal record 1:58.96.

"The race went by in a flash," Lebouef said after the race. "It was a blur really. I can barely remember it. I was mentally prepared for this race this whole week. I knew I could be up there, possibly No. 1. I'm honestly speechless about what happened today."

Kinchen also had a personal record at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier. Kinchen won the girls 400m with a time of 57.02. Her time ranks No. 2 in Louisiana, trailing only Barbe's Kennedi Burkes (56.40).

"At the end it was kind of hard to push through and catch everyone," Kinchen said after her race at Last Chance. "But I was able to get on the outside and move in."

Kinchen will be looking to get in the 56s for this Saturday's LHSAA State Indoor Meet
