State Champion Sprinter Will Not Compete in 2024!

EDNA KARR'S RA'HJI DENNIS (5) COMPETES IN A 2023 INDOOR MEET!

One of Louisiana's top returning sprinters, Edna Karr's Ra'hji Dennis, will graduate early and will not compete during his senior track season. Dennis reached out to MileSplit LA on Tuesday evening via Twitter to make us aware that he will be getting a jump start on his college football career.

This news comes a day after Dennis announced that he was decommitting from Ole Miss. Dennis posted the following the about his decision to decommit.

"First off, I wanna thank god for guiding me through this process of recruitment, and I want to thank the Coaches at Ole Miss for recruiting me," Dennis posted on social media. "After many long talks with my family, I have decided to decommit from Ole Miss. Thank you Ole Miss for the amazing opportunity."

Dennis finished second in the Class 5A 100m at the 2023 LHSAA State Outdoor Meet in May with a time of 10.52. Only John Ehret's Armani Cargo (10.42) was faster. Dennis (21.26) was also the runner-up to Cargo in the 200m.

In 2022, Dennis won the Class 4A state championship in the 200m with a 21.31.

In late May of this year, Dennis, a three-star wide receiver at Edna Karr,  was Lane Kiffin's ninth commitment for the Rebels.

Dennis told MileSplit LA that he will announce his decision on where he will continue his career on National Signing Day--Wednesday, December 20.
