PARKWAY'S BRENNAN ROBIN (6) ON HIS WAY TO A VICTORY IN THE 1600m AT THE LSU HS CLASSIC
After combing through the results of of the season opener from last Saturday's LSU High School Classic, we have compiled our finalist for this week's MileSplit LA Boys Performer Of The Week poll. The poll will close on Tuesday at 9pm. Congratulations to all of the finalist for their outstanding performances in the season opener.
CARTER RIVET (ALEXANDRIA)-- Launched and incredible throw in the shot put. His 59-8.25 was three and a half feet better than any other shot putter in the competition. Rivet, who is only a sophomore, is ranked No. 11 in the nation and No. 1 in the United States among sophomore boys.
WILLIAM DECUIR (CATHOLIC)-- In years past, it has taken La. HS middle distance runners a few meets to break 2:00 in the 800m. Not this year. Decuir pulled four other runners along as he pulled away late in the 800m to win with a time of 1:56.30. It ranks No. 9 in the nation for junior boys. In Louisiana history, the only juniors who have run faster is Eric Coston (1:56.01) and Blair Henderson (1:56.13).
DAVID QUINTANA (JESUIT)-- Meet records were few and far between, but David Quintana was able to break the meet record in the boys 3200m. For his efforts, Quintana was awarded the meet's Outstanding Performer trophy. Like Decuir, Quintana ran an all-time Louisiana No. 3 mark for juniors. Only Aiden Monistere (9:16) and Louden Boudreaux (9:20)had faster times during their junior year.
MICAH GREEN (RUMMEL)-- Green--until proven otherwise--is the Fastest Man in La. High Schools. While we had a feeling this was the case due to Green being the top returning sprinter from 2025 and the early returns from his first indoor meet last month in Alabama, Green showed out in front of the crowd winning the the 60m with a time of 6.84.
Rummel is not a one-trick pony. Jaden Terrance (6.96) was No. 2 in the 60m, and don't forget about junior Nasir Ceazer
BRENNAN ROBIN (PARKWAY)-- It had to feel good for Parkway's Brennan Robin to be back on the track at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse after missing the entire 2025 indoor season. Robin made running a 4:16 in the 1600m look like a stroll in the park on his way to his first win of his junior track season. It is the fastest time ever run indoors by a Louisiana junior and currently ranks No. 4 in the nation among all juniors.
KODI CLEMENT (KAPLAN)--Became the first La. high school boy to break 50 seconds in the 400m as he won the event at the LSU High School Classic. Also, broke the family indoor record in the event. Clement's older brother, Gabe, runs for UCLA.
