POLL: Vote on MileSplit LA's XC Boys' Performer of the Week!

RUSTON'S TAYLOR ROLLER ROLLS TO A WIN AT THE OPENER!

It's the first ballot of the cross country season! Who will be the MileSplit LA XC Boys' Performer of the Week? You will decide with your vote. The poll will close on Saturday, September 9th at 9pm. Congratulations to all of the runners for making the ballot, and thank you for voting!

TAYLOR ROLLER (RUSTON) - Ran an impressive 15:57 5K to win The Opener in Clinton, Mississippi. Roller's coach Dustin Cochran said Roller "excuted the race plan to a T and showed great maturity."

GABRIEL METOYER (BROTHER MARTIN)- Metoyer called his first race of the 2023 seas a "rust buster." After running a 16:05 5K to finish third at the Mobile Challenge of Champions it doesn't seem like there was much rust to bust off as Metoyer was able to lead his Crusader harriers to a team title in Alabama.

MYLES CARPENTER-HEAD (CEDAR CREEK) - Last year, in his first cross country meet in Louisiana, Head finished second at the Choudrant Aggie Invitational. This year, he came away with a win while helping his Cougars to a team title in the season opener. Head won by over a minute with his time of 16:48.

MATTHEW MAYNARD (CATHOLIC)- For the second year in a row, Matthew Maynard opened up his cross country season at the Bayou Boogie with a win. His 15:51 time this season is nine seconds faster than the time he ran to win the title a year ago. Heading into his senior year, Maynard is more concerned with pulling his fellow Bears along than just worrying about his own success.

BRADY SINS (HOUMA CHRISTIAN) - The Warriors of Houma Christian had a big day at the Eddie Cole Classic, and Sins was a big part of that. The senior opened up his season with a win, running a time of 16:21 on the road course.

SAM HABER (NEWMAN) - Haber took top individual honors at the UNO High School Opener on Friday. Haber ran a time of 16:40.
