SOPHOMORE MARLEY RICHARD COMPETES AT THE LHSAA OUTDOOR STATE MEET!
There were four Louisiana high school girls in the 19 foot club in the girls long jump during the 2023 season. The club included Covington's Kerrington Baham, Destrehan's Marley Richard, Dunham's Jordyn Minor, and Barbe's Ariel Williams.
The state's two best--Baham and Richard--return in 2024. Minor and Williams will move on to the next chapter. For Williams, that means joining the Louisiana Tech Track & Field program.
It's going to be a deep group of jumpers looking to compete for the crown of Louisiana's best femal long jumper in 2023. All six of the remaining jumpers in the top 10 are underclassmen.
The six jumpers who round out the top ten include the following; Opelousas Catholic's Rheagan Butler (18-11), Ponchatula's Ariana Taylor (18-10), West Feliciana's Tristen Harris (18-8.75), Menard's A'shyria Burns (18-6.75), Newman's Claire Charpentier (18-6.5), and Huntington's Demetria Harris (18-6)
