Only one girl in Louisiana broke the 11:00 barrier in the 3200m during the La. HS track and field season and that was Mt. Carmel'sCatalina Reichard, who ran a time of 10:58.38 at the Pete Boudreaux Invitational in late March. Reichard went on to pull the distance at the LHSAA Class 5A State Outdoor Meet, winning wthe 3200m (11:05.26) after winning the 1600m with a personal record 5:04.36.
While Reichard may be ahead of Houma Christian'sEmma Bourg on this list, nobody had a better year than Bourg. The 2022 Gatorade Louisiana Cross Country Player of the Year was the only female in the state to break 5:00 in the 1600m. Bourg had the second fastest 3200m time in Louisiana with an 11:01.02.
A surprise to nobody is the fact that St. Joseph's Academy had two of five 3200m runners in the state inGrace Rennhoff and Elise Brown. Rennhoff had a season best of 11:09.12 while Brown's best time in 2023 was 11:10.35.
