This week in Louisiana high school track and field it has brought meet cancellations and rescheduling. The LHSCA/Meet of Champions scheduled for Friday, April 7 at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette has been canceled and will not be made up.
It was just one of the many meets impacted by the bad weather sweeping across the state this week. The Louisiana National Guard Westgate Tiger Relays, originally scheduled for today, has also been canceled.
Westgate head coach Phillip Guidry tried to move the meet to next week, but that move impacted participating teams and Guidry was not able to get enough participation to make the move feasible.
As of now, the Huntington Raider Relays, originally scheduled for today, has been moved to Saturday. The field events are scheduled for an 11am start. The running events are set to begin at 1pm.
